It has connected territories, driven economic development, taught effort and discipline, and brought together generations of people who devoted their lives to sailing, building, innovating and helping Spain move forward.

To speak of the sea is to speak of those who set sail in search of new horizons. Of those who built ports and shipyards. Of those who developed new technologies to meet increasingly complex challenges. And of those who understood that progress is not only about moving forward, but also about preserving what has brought us this far.

That is why the centenary of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano is much more than a celebration of a ship’s hundredth anniversary. It is a recognition of a legacy built over generations: a legacy of knowledge, experience, service and a deep connection to our maritime history. As an official sponsor of this historic commemoration, Jove Group is proud to support those values.

And this is where its story begins to meet our own.

Our region has always looked towards the sea.

For centuries, maritime activity has played a part in the economic, industrial and social development of Spain’s Cantabrian coast. Ports, trade, shipbuilding and maritime industries have left a lasting mark on the way we understand work, effort and innovation.

This is more than a matter of geography. It is a matter of culture.

The sea has helped shape the character of entire generations. It has taught the value of discipline, the importance of preparation and the need to face every challenge with determination and confidence.

These values have guided thousands of people throughout our history, and they remain just as relevant today.

At Jove Group, we have always believed that growth is meaningful when it rests on strong foundations.

Over more than five decades, we have evolved, adapted to new markets, undertaken industrial projects with an international reach and faced the challenges of a constantly changing world.

Yet one thing has never changed: our roots.

Our commitment to our region, our trust in people, our support for industry and our determination to create lasting value have been constants throughout our journey from the very beginning.

That is why sponsoring the centenary celebrations of the Training Ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano is a particular source of pride for us.

We see this commemoration as more than a historic anniversary. We see an opportunity to recognise principles that matter as much today as they did a century ago: effort, perseverance, excellence, continuous learning and a commitment to future generations.

Over the coming months, we will explore stories of the sea, tradition, industry, innovation and people who have helped build our country’s maritime heritage.

It is a history connected to our region, our ports, our industry and generations of people who have made the sea a way of life. These values have also been part of Jove Group’s journey for more than five decades.

Behind every major project, every voyage and every technological advance are people whose effort and dedication make collective achievements possible.

It is these human stories that turn history into a legacy. They connect past and present and help us better understand who we are.

This is the first of many stops.

Over the coming months, we will travel through a century of history together, sharing stories that help us understand the importance of the sea to the development of our country, our industry and our society.

We will look to the past for lessons that still matter today. We will discover stories of tradition and innovation, of dedication and commitment, and of people who understood that moving forward does not mean leaving our roots behind, but drawing on them to go further.

Because, as great navigators know, a course only makes sense when we know where we came from.

And because understanding our roots may be the best way to build the future.!["Training]("https://jovegroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/raices-que-navegan-centenario-juan-sebastian-de-elcano-0-1-1024x1024.jpg")
